Our Training Program Team
The core runners within the training team have been active in endurance
events from 5 to 20 years. We have only been active with ultramarathons, however,
sport for the past 1 to 3 years.
But, we have found running on wooded trails, for distances of 30+
miles, so enjoyable and rewarding that we have subsequently become missionaries.
Take Pete for example, after never running a distance greater than
a marathon, he enjoyed the JFK 50 so much last November, that he went on to complete the
Bull Run Run 50 in April and the Massanutten Mountain 100 in May of this year.

Support Crew
If you would like to enjoy the ultramarathon experience, but do
not want to commit to the miles just yet, then
Please Join our Support Crew.
An efficient and uplifting support crew really helps to make your
ultramarathon experience enjoyable. The crew can have just as much fun, and enjoy
just as much camaraderie, as the runners. Bill Van Antwerp will lead and
organize our crew support for the JFK 50 Miler this year.
Bill participated in the JFK 50 support crew for the past 2 years by
both automobile and bicycle. Bill has completed numerous endurance bicycling and
ironman endurance events. His many years of extreme event experience provides
tremendous depth to our training team.
We currently anticipate at least 1/2 dozen returning crew
members, as well as new volunteer support from the Reston Runners Club.
